Bio

I was 19 when I started my professional career, providing tax advisory services as a trainee at EY. By 21, I became a chartered certified accountant and secured an audit trainee position in the advisory department at PwC. My 4 years at PwC can be described as one of the most diverse and exceptionally unique experiences of my life. From conducting audits of NGOs in Afghanistan, to providing advisory services to power projects located in the desert to leading the advisory team in a merger transaction of a mega conglomerate. The repute I garnered as an exceedingly driven and hardworking individual amongst executives in the industry, landed me a number of job offers the moment my contract with the firm ended.

After PwC, I joined the Projects & Strategy department at Fauji Fertilizer Company (FFC), which is one of Pakistan’s leading organizations. I worked for 7 years as a senior team member responsible for evaluating potential strategic investment opportunities for the Company. I was involved in setting up an SPV for Tanzania's first fertilizer plant, acquiring a frozen fruit & vegetables company, securing foreign lending for a coal fired power plant and performing due diligence of a distressed commercial bank. My day-to-day role encompassed end to end evaluations of prospective investments from the initial due diligence and preparation of market models, to the final recommendations for the executive committee and board of directors.

For the past 4 years, I have been leading the Treasury team at FFC, overseeing the identification and assessment of lucrative short term investment avenues for the Company and negotiating debt financing with Banks. I am effectively managing an investment portfolio of over $550M, consisting of a myriad of diverse financial instruments and have dealt with complex fixed income transactions involving the interest rate swap of a $125M loan portfolio, repricing of running finance facilities and forward exchange contracts.
